Meat cooking on a bbq, whether inside a cabin, or out on a grill, is a truly joyous experience to go through. The noise of what to cook, and how, can often be lost in the huge sea of options, so here are 5 recipes, for pork, that you can use on the grill in a bbq cabin, or on an outdoor bbq anywhere.
1. BBQ Pork Ribs
Ingredients:
2 racks of pork ribs
1 cup BBQ sauce
2 tablespoons paprika
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon onion powder
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions:
Preheat your grill to medium heat.
Mix paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, brown sugar, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
Rub the spice mixture all over the ribs.
Place the ribs on the grill and cook for 2-3 hours, turning occasionally, until tender.
In the last 30 minutes, brush the ribs with BBQ sauce and continue grilling.
Remove from grill and let rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
2. BBQ Pulled Pork
Ingredients:
4-5 pounds pork shoulder
1 cup BBQ sauce
1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons paprika
2 tablespoons garlic powder
1 tablespoon onion powder
1 tablespoon salt
1 tablespoon black pepper
Instructions:
Preheat your grill to low heat.
Mix paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
Rub the spice mixture all over the pork shoulder.
Place the pork shoulder on the grill and cook for 6-8 hours, or until the meat is very tender. You will need to keep an eye on the charcoal levels if working this in the cabin.
Remove from grill and let rest for 30 minutes.
Shred the pork using two forks and mix with BBQ sauce, apple cider vinegar, and brown sugar.
Serve on buns or as desired.
3. BBQ Pork Chops
Ingredients:
4 pork chops
1/2 cup BBQ sauce
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon paprika
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions:
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
Mix olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
Brush the mixture on both sides of the pork chops.
Place the pork chops on the grill in the bbq hut or on the grill outside and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until cooked through.
In the last few minutes, brush with BBQ sauce and continue grilling.
Remove from grill and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
4. BBQ Pork Skewers
Ingredients:
1.5 pounds pork tenderloin, cut into cubes
1/2 cup BBQ sauce
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon paprika
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
Bell peppers and onions, cut into chunks (optional)
Instructions:
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
Mix olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
Toss the pork cubes in the mixture to coat evenly.
Thread the pork cubes (and vegetables if using) onto skewers.
Grill for 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the pork is cooked through.
In the last few minutes, brush with barbeque sauce and continue grilling.
Remove from grill and serve.
5. BBQ Pork Belly Burnt Ends
Ingredients:
2 pounds pork belly, cut into 1-inch cubes
1/2 cup BBQ sauce
1/4 cup honey
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons paprika
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions:
Preheat your grill to low heat.
Mix paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
Toss the pork belly cubes in the spice mixture.
Place the pork belly cubes on the grill and cook for 2-3 hours, until tender and caramelised.
Remove from grill and place in a foil pan.
Mix barbecue sauce, honey, and brown sugar, and pour over the pork belly cubes.
Return to the grill and cook for another 30-45 minutes, until the sauce is sticky and the pork belly is tender.
Remove from grill and serve.
